Commercial dishwasher products are selected for their intended machine application. A product that makes abundant foam during hand washing is not automatically suitable for a commercial machine. Start with the machine instructions and the detergent supplier’s recommendation.
Identify the product by purpose
Aspin D-10 is described as a non-foaming alkaline liquid cleaner for commercial dishwashers. That description helps distinguish it from hand dishwashing products and from Aspin’s separate rinse additive.
Keep the full product name in purchasing records and on the equipment sheet. Terms such as “washing liquid” or “kitchen soap” are too broad when different products are stored nearby. Confirm the identity of a replacement before it is connected.
Investigate a change in appearance
If unusual foam appears, record what changed and follow the equipment instructions for responding. Do not introduce another chemical to counteract it or adjust a dispenser without the appropriate authority.
Useful questions for the supervisor or service provider include:
- Was a different product recently received or connected?
- Did pre-washing or soaking practices change?
- Are particular racks or items associated with the issue?
- Does the machine display a warning or behave differently?
- When did the issue first occur, and is it repeatable?
These observations help frame an investigation. They do not establish the cause on their own.
Review storage and handover language
Place machine detergent information beside the machine’s operating record and keep other product uses clearly identified in the cleaning plan. Staff changing shifts should report the named product and the task, rather than describing a container by colour alone.
For a new employee, use a simple exercise: identify the detergent, the rinse additive and the appropriate person to contact. The employee should also be able to locate the current instructions before handling either product.
Confirm before switching
Ask your supplier how a proposed detergent change should be managed for the installed system. Compatibility and dispensing need to be considered together.
Read detergent versus rinse additive for the distinction between stages, and contact Aspin with your machine details when you need product guidance.
