ASPIN CLEANING GUIDES / Equipment & Service

A New Dishwasher Handover Checklist

Use the equipment handover to collect operating instructions, support details and clear responsibilities before the new machine enters normal service.

A new commercial dishwasher handover should leave the business with more than a working machine. Staff need to know which instructions apply, who is authorised to make adjustments and how to obtain help. Plan that conversation before the installation date.

Identify the people who will operate, supervise and arrange service for the equipment. If only one shift attends the handover, agree how the other shifts will receive the approved instructions and training.

Collect the equipment information

Retain the make, model, serial number, manuals, installation documentation and service contact. Confirm where warranty or service terms are recorded and who keeps them current. Do not assume that a brochure contains the operating requirements for the exact installed model.

Ask the installer or qualified provider to explain the completed commissioning record and any outstanding items. Distinguish installation completion from the business's authorisation to begin normal operation.

Walk through normal work

Request a demonstration covering approved start-up, loading, routine operator checks, shutdown and cleaning. Include detergent and rinse-additive identification, the dispensing arrangement and the correct escalation route for an empty container or fault.

The handover should make clear which actions operators may perform and which belong to a qualified service person. Do not create informal workarounds because a control seems easy to reach.

Record the operating baseline

Keep the provider's documented settings and checks with the equipment record. Add the rack types, expected workload and agreed monitoring routine. A clear starting record makes later changes easier to investigate.

Note every outstanding item, its owner and the agreed review date. Examples include missing documentation, a follow-up visit or training still required for another shift. Close those items explicitly rather than assuming that delivery completes the project.

Use the opening-check guide and closing-handover guide to organise daily records around the manufacturer's instructions. For detergent supply and equipment questions, Aspin's service team can discuss the specific machine and operation. The objective is a handover that remains useful after the installer leaves.
