ASPIN CLEANING GUIDES / Equipment & Service

Reviewing a Dishwasher After Service Work

Close a service job with clear findings, operator instructions and follow-up checks so the next shift understands the machine's status.

A service visit is not fully handed over when the technician leaves. The site needs a clear record of what was found, what was completed and whether any restriction or follow-up remains. Assign one person to receive that information and pass it to the operating team.

Use the service reference to connect the original symptom, work performed and subsequent observations. That prevents a later complaint from losing the context of the first visit.

Confirm the outcome with the provider

Ask which issue was addressed, what work was completed and what remains unresolved. Obtain the documented requirements for return to use and any changes to normal operator instructions.

If a setting or component changed, retain the provider's record. Operators should not adjust it back based on memory or preference. Questions about performance should go through the agreed support route.

Brief the affected shifts

Explain the machine's current status, revised instructions and any work still scheduled. Replace obsolete task information where necessary while retaining the previous record for history. Make sure the closing team receives changes discussed with the opening team.

A brief handover can cover the service reference, current operating status, changed instruction, required observation and contact person. Keep technical documentation with the equipment record rather than rewriting it from a verbal conversation.

Observe normal operation

Complete the checks required by the equipment and site procedures. For the original complaint, gather consistent observations under normal workload. If the complaint concerned spotting, for example, compare similar ware and record the result without changing several other factors at once.

Do not close an unresolved issue just because the machine ran for a short demonstration. Conversely, do not assume an unrelated new symptom proves the original repair failed. Report the evidence clearly to the provider.

Use the visual inspection guide for appearance observations and the maintenance planning guide for future service scheduling. A documented handover turns a repair into a controlled return to normal work.
